Savor Summer With These August 2026 Events in Hawaii

We’re back from another (unplanned) hiatus. We’re off-island in July, and despite really wanting to show up in your inbox, we took a break to fully indulge in our annual East Coast summer splendor.

But we’re happy to be back this side of the Pacific and more than ready to continue sharing the style-savvy stuff you should know about.

This week, a behind-the-scenes look at a shoot that reminded us what magic happens when some of our creative crew comes together, a heads-up on a shopping weekend worth the crowds, a new collection from a friend that's begging to be worn beach-to-dinner, and a running list of everything worth marking on your calendar across the islands.

TO INSPIRE

We spent a lovely summer afternoon by the pool with an all-women creative team, fresh local catch, vintage shells and glassware galore. From oysters poolside to cocktail hour inside, this "Saltwater Supper" shoot is proof that the most beautiful gatherings don't need a big production—just good people and a well-set table. Yes, the Made in Hawaii Festival (August 20-23 at the Hawaii Convention Center) is a madhouse—but it's the spot for once-a-year deals, exclusive festival-only items, and first dibs on new products from hundreds of local makers before they hit shelves. If crowds aren't your thing, skip general admission and spring for VIP Access Night ($25, Thursday) or Preview Night ($20, Friday).

Insider tip: Go Sunday if you can—it's typically the calmest general admission day ($8, 8 am to 7 pm), and vendors are often more open to deals as they look to clear remaining stock. Kids 6 and under get in free with a registered ticket, and the 2026 vendor program is worth a scroll beforehand so you're not aimlessly wandering.

M3n3hu3e All The Flowers collection

Our super cool, super creative friend just launched her second M3n3hu3e collection. “All The Flowers” is giving a groovy-meets-elevated energy. Cotton poplin pieces with florals in moody moss or sun-bleached sand colors are cut into a breezy dress, lounge pants, and a top that all work as easily for beach day as a dinner reservation.

TO VISIT

Kauai's North Shore just got a serene new hideaway: The Ti House has opened at Common Ground in Kilauea, pouring Hanalei Coffee Roasters espresso, farm-grown teas, and craft cocktails made with Hanalei Spirits. Open weekdays 8 AM-8 PM, with the Stone Dam trailhead just steps away if you want to make a morning of it.

Plus, Hanalei Gourmet reopens its doors on August 10, so mark your calendar.

Girl Dinner at Hideout

On Oahu, Manoa Chocolate has expanded into coffee, opening a new roaster and café in Kailua (more from Frolic). And in Waikiki, Hideout at the Laylow is putting their spin on the "girl dinner" trend—think espresso martini, truffle fries, and an island greens salad, served nightly from 5-10 pm.
