Aloha friend,

Below, you’ll find boutiques and bars that have opened across the islands, new collections from brands we love, and a handful of events worth actually putting on your calendar.

And if your summer calendar isn’t quite full enough, book a staycation (kamaaina rates galore) or just spend the day lounging by a pool. We recently got to spend a few days at Turtle Bay, and it’s amazing what a getaway—of any kind—can do for the soul. Full recap of our stay, and Father’s Day gift ideas, coming soon.

Cheers to summer,
The Edit Hawaii

Now Open

Roger, the popular Haleiwa boutique from the owners of Mahina, recently opened its second location. Inside the new Whaler’s Village boutique, you’ll feel the same warm vintage Hawaiiana vibe and all things aloha, plus you’ll find exclusive Lahaina merch. We have to shout out to the interior wizards (and our friends) from House of Honolulu for sourcing and styling the beautiful space.

Roger at Whaler’s Village

Artist Holly Kaiakapu recently opened the doors to her new boutique, Hometown Hawaiian, in Hanapepe. Shop Holly’s own work and discover products from other Kanaka Maoli creatives.

Navy Dylan just opened at Koloa Village. Shop owner Shannan Morgan originally launched it to spotlight her family's nonprofit, One Life to Give, but it's grown into something even more special: a boutique that gives back, full of global goods from fair-trade and social impact businesses. It’s the kind of place where shopping actually feels good.

The Honey Bar in Kaimuki

The ohana behind Manoa Honey Mead brought a new kind of pau hana spot to Kaimuki: The Honey Bar. Expect signature and seasonal sparkling meads, craft cocktails made with in-house distilled spirits, and creative mocktails.

We popped over on Thursday night and had a great experience. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, and the community vibe was strong: new parents on a nightly stroll with the baby, couples, friends, friends of friends. We recommend getting a flight—we tried the seasonal In Bloom Flight—and pairing it with the Honey & Cheese Platter. The Lei Flower Session, made from “ugly” (aka unsellable, but perfectly usable) tuberose from a farm in Waimanalo, might have been our favorite.

Don’t miss the Grand Opening tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. And if you’re not on Oahu, you can find bottled mead across the islands at Whole Foods, Foodland, ABC Stores, Mana Foods, and The Dragon’s Den.

New Collections

Vintage for Peoples, the cult-favorite brand that slings authentic vintage Levi’s, hand-embroidered sweatshirts, and perfectly lived-in tees, is now offering a new line, 53. The limited-edition vintage-inspired t-shirts honor founder Jenna Peoples’ late father (he was born in 1953). This “Hawaii 80” collection represents the year her parents were married, and launches in select stores and online on June 12. (Pssst — Shipwrecked already has a few in stock!)

This Aloha Collection x Hawaiian Sun collection is nostalgic pop-art perfection.

A new Reyn Spooner collection celebrates the 60th anniversary of The Endless Summer. If there’s a man in your life who’s made you watch it 60+ times (we have one), this is your no-brainer Father’s Day gift.
