URBAN ISLAND: FASHION & ART IN KAKAAKO

Street Artist in Kakaako // TheEditHawaii.com

Many people think of Hawaii as the land of palm trees, Mai Tai's and hula girls, but those of us who live in Honolulu know that there's a real urban lifestyle complete with high rise buildings, traffic-laden one-way streets and a thriving nightlife and art scene. To me, Honolulu is really the best of both worlds—a perfectly imperfect city by the beach.

A few weekends ago I got together with a few island-based creatives at Lana Lane Studios in Kakaako to create a street art editorial showcasing not only Hawaii's stunning model-of-the-moment, but also the amazing murals created by POW! WOW! artists.

Wander the streets of Kakaako with us and be inspired by the fashion and art scene of this urban island.
