FIVE CHIC BOUTIQUES ON OAHU

Oahu is undoubtedly the epicenter of Hawaii’s shopping scene, with luxury boutiques and world-class retail meccas lining the streets of Waikiki and beyond. But, beyond the internationally renowned names are exceptionally curated independently-owned boutiques offering a unique mix of hard-to-find fashions and island essentials. Below, we’ve rounded up five chic boutiques on Oahu, from Honolulu to Kailua and even the North Shore.

AT DAWN OAHU

Founded in 2016, at Dawn is a collection of minimalist clothing in flowing fabrics—refined yet relaxed apparel—designed here in Hawaii. The uberchic boutique also features a curated mix of unique accessories, beauty and home goods, such as local brands Tamiko Clare Stoneware and Aloha Clay, and independent labels like Sophie Monet and Artesano.

HERE.

At SALT at Kakaako, expect cute cafes and enticing eateries, but there’s also a chic boutique totally worth popping into. Aside from its in-house clothing brand—luxe linen separates, easy dresses and the like—Here. stocks home and self-care goods, and sought-after brands like St. Agni and Zulu & Zephyr, plus hard-to-find labels like Nagnata and Paloma Wool.

NUMBER 808

Oahu’s North Shore is perhaps best known for the seven-mile miracle—a stretch of coastline that boasts seriously stellar surf breaks—not necessarily its fashion offerings. But there are a few style-centric gems in Haleiwa Store Lots and beyond that have fashion at the forefront. Number 808 is one of them. The thoughtfully curated boutique is a dreamy mix of modern and vintage for men and women. There’s a chic and sophisticated surfy vibe thanks to brands like Banks Journal, Mikoh, Stussy as well as the in-house items.

OLIVE

Kailua’s beloved women’s boutique recently expanded its space and now offers even more coveted clothing, accessories and homewares to beautify your wardrobe and space. A few favorites include loungewear by Mate The Label, stunning dresses by Spell & The Gypsy Collective, poufs by Show Pony, artwork by Lola Pilar, and hand-dyed indigo napkins. Trust us when we tell you you might spend hours here perusing the goods.

WE ARE ICONIC

The upscale boutique features hard-to-find (on island) labels like Rachel Comey, Ulla Johnson and Raquel Allegra. The concept and curation by shop owner Shie Clark is unrivaled here in Honolulu. Shie’s Tokyo roots, her travels and her island lifestyle combine into one, well, iconic boutique that brings global style to Hawaii. We Are Iconic first started as an online store based out of Southern California before becoming a brick and mortar in 2013 on Waimanu Street. After four years there, the boutique is now in an industrial-chic space in the ever-expanding Ward Village area, so you can pop in on your way back from Whole Foods or on your way to dinner at Merriman’s, or really, whenever your heart desires.
