TWO NEW STORES OPEN AT WARD VILLAGE SHOPS

POSH'd by Valerie Joseph

Two new stores have opened up at Oahu's haven for locally-owned businesses, Ward Village Shops.

POSHd

Valerie Regaza-Miao's namesake store, Valerie Joseph, recently shut its doors at Ala Moana Center. But fear not, faithful followers, you can now find her signature bubbly personality and great selection of clothing and accessories at her new concept store, POSHd, at Ward Village Shops. After more than a decade catering to a fun and fashionable crowd, Valerie's new boutique is sort of like the original store's older sister, with a new refined style, but still offering items with approachable price point. And what's more, at the heart of POSHd is a mission to give back to the community. "Giving back has always been very important to me,” says Valerie, “and we have socially conscious customers who are passionate about shopping with a purpose. We’ve made it a focus to carry lines from socially conscious designers, and brands with a story or mission.“

FLOTSAM & CO.

As its name suggests (flotsam is anything left in shipwreck), Flotsam & Co. offers ocean-inspired jewelry using materials found on the sea floor: Think sunrise shells that are only found in Hawaiian waters (which the designer dives 100+ feet to find), freshwater pearls and sea glass. Owner/designer Karen Sawicki grew up diving, so it's only fitting that she now gets to combine her love of the sea and her training in fine art and design at The Cooper Union in New York City. The maritime treasures are artfully placed around the store, amongst the brand's all-natural shaving kits also made right here on Oahu.
